Dining at Victory
A
warm and welcoming experience that reflects the true spirit
of the New England seacoast. Appreciate the flavor of the region
through our simple but inspired New England cuisine offered
by a gracious and knowledgeable staff. Situated in an extensively
restored 1820's Federal style house featuring a rustic mix of
classic period details and contemporary décor, Victory is divided
into two floors. The downstairs has a comfortable yet stylish
tavern-like feel, including a cozy front lounge, fireplaces
and seating for close to forty; the upstairs is a bit more formal,
complete with tablecloths, fireplaces and a more traditional
New England ambiance. Also located upstairs is our private dining
room, a federalist style room enclosed by pocket doors which
accommodates up to twenty-six people, perfect for either business
meetings or celebrations with family and friends.
The Heart of Victory
The kitchen is where chef/owner Duncan Boyd and his staff create dishes which highlight the best that farmers, fisherman and foragers of the area have to offer. During his fifteen years at top restaurants including Jaspers and Olives in Boston and Nora's and 21 Federal in Washington, D.C., Duncan cultivated a fundamentalist approach to cooking which is integral to the food at Victory--keep the menus seasonal, rely on local resources to supply the freshest ingredients possible and use classic techniques to create inspired cuisine. The result is simply great food that tastes both familiar and extraordinary.
Wine
The
eclectic wine list offers our guests the opportunity to taste
superior, handcrafted wines. Duncan personally selects the wines
for their quality, value and compatibility with the food. He
is particularly fond of outstanding wines ranging from the smaller
growing regions of the world such as the Languedoc in France,
to handcrafted Pinot Noirs and Pinot Gris from the Willamette
Valley of Oregon, or from classic small wine producing families
in Burgundy or Tuscany.
Private Functions
Host
your next party or business meeting with us at Victory. Seating
ranges from ten to sixty people. Our private dining room is
best for smaller events; the entire upstairs can be reserved
for larger parties, or a combination of the two can be arranged,
depending on the size of the group. Business meetings, rehearsal
dinners, anniversary parties and graduations are all easily
accommodated. The ambiance is traditional New England with exposed
brick walls, post and beam architecture and candle lit tables.
